About The Boat

Just Dreaming is a masterpiece of maritime design and ingenuity. Commissioned in 1963, by the master ship builders of Stephens Brothers of Stockton, CA, her wooden hull and classic lines result in a smooth, more comfortable ride, while arousing interest from onlookers where ever she is.

In 2002, Just Dreaming was restored to her majestic splendor, making her suitable for day trips or overnight excursions to the outer limits of the San Francisco Bay and Delta waterways. Her tastefully appointed interior, features three state rooms, two heads (one with shower), full galley, and a luxurious Gatsby-era main salon. Forward and aft decks allow plenty of space for socializing and enjoying the pacific vistas and landscapes as she travels.

Today, Just Dreaming affords an elegant opportunity for mixing and relaxing while taking in the San Francisco skyline and all the bay has to offer. She accommodates up to 42 guests, and her berth at Pier 40 is steps away from AT&T Park and some of the city’s best dining and entertainment venues.

On our path in life, we, the crew, have been blessed to have come in contact with and preserved a treasure of history, The Vessel Just Dreaming. We work on her and with her daily to preserve our piece of history.  One of the ways we offer our thanks is give back to the community so that others may benefit. Sometimes it is donations of a charter, or product, or a cash contribution.   We are blessed as a crew and return that often throughout the year.

Some of the charities we have contributed to include:

  • San Francisco Baykeeper
  • The ALS Foundation
  • Our Lady of Perpetual Help School
  • Notre Dame de Victiories School
  • Grace Cathedral School
  • St. Mary’s School Walnut Creek

Just Dreaming is a classic Gatsby and Jackie Onassis era designed luxury vessel. She was built in 1963 of teak and mahogany. She comes to us with much folklore.

Just Dreaming is the product of old-world craftsmanship refined into a unique vessel. In 1957, after World War II when the Navy had surplus teak and mahogany,  Stevens Brothers Boat Works of Stockton California purchased large quantities. Customers looked to them for the creation of the modern vessel of its time.   A husband and wife, farmers from Fresno, ordered a unique vessel with a set of plans of what they wanted in a boat.  They designed a larger boat with an extended front and aft deck. Not only did they get their wish but they inspected piece of wood that went on the boat prior to it being included so they knew the quality of construction. What we have today is the result of expert craftsmanship, old growth teak and mahogany, and the dedication of a husband and wife to realize thrown their dream, their own retirement vessel. Enjoy it. We do.

Our Bay cruise party was so private and memorable. We could have booked a room at a restaurant or hotel, but this was so much more. It’s like a floating hotel with priceless views… like a mini vacation!

We took our honeymoon on Just Dreaming and visited Wine Country. What a sophisticated way to unwind after all the madness… ending up in Napa to enjoy fantastic restaurants and of course…the wine.

My father spent a lot of time at sea while in the Marine Corp. He told us stories about the San Francisco Bay port and we believe he would have wanted us to memorialize him in this way from such an elegant and nostalgic vessel.
